Perenio IoT introduced the universal infrared remote control RED ATOM

Czech technology company Perenio IoT introduced a smart IR remote control with voice assistance.

The device extends the company's line of smart home devices and can be used as part of the Perenio Smart building management system after activation in a mobile application.

The Red Atom IR remote control is designed to control TVs and air conditioning with infrared ports from different manufacturers through the Perenio Smart mobile application and/or voice assistants —  Alice from Yandex Smart Home, Google Assistant from Google Home. Amazon's Alexa support will come soon.

This is a compact device 50x50x19 mm size and 27 grams weight with a special non-slip rubber cover. Its laconic design allows you to fit the device into any interior easily. A smart IR remote control is a kind of intermediary between a smart home system and devices that were not originally considered smart, but have an infrared port.

You must follow the instructions specified in the mobile application to activate the device through voice assistants. The Red Atom infrared remote control must be added to the Perenio Smart app. Next, you need to select the manufacturer and type of device in the list. After setting, the remote control will be able to transmit the IR signal 360° to 10 meters distance.

Due to the compatibility of Red Atom with voice assistants, it is enough to ask the air conditioning to lower the temperature on a couple of degrees or give the command to the TV to increase the volume - and the command will be executed. The device supports the main models of most brands of household appliances: Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, LG, Panasonic, Electrolux, Gorenje and others.

At start, there are following functions available for user: turning on and off the air conditioning, controlling the temperature, switching the air conditioning mode (dry, cold, hot, auto, fan), changing the delivered air volume (auto, low, medium, high), switching the TV channels and adjusting the volume. The firmware of the device and the application will be updated in future. New features and types of controlled household appliances will be added.

Red Atom will help not only to interact with the house through voice conveniently, but also to solve issues of resource efficiency and economy. I am convinced that voice interaction will become a common alternative to visual interfaces very soon. That’s why we presented a device, which allows to control a smart home and solve small everyday problems. I hope this will help the user devote more time to important things”, says Sergey Kostevich, Perenio IoT Business Development Director.

The Red Atom IR remote control will be available from official distributor and in authorized retail and online stores. Contact your ASBIS manager to get more details.
